Nicholas (“Nick”) leads overarching strategy and development for the firm and its partners. Nick began his career in New York City with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, working in their financial services group specializing in commercial real estate. From there, he spent years in Los Angeles working in-house at the Abbey Company, a large private developer and manager with retail, office, and industrial assets across Southern California. In 2014, Nick and his wife Lucy moved to Nashville where he began working with Fresh Capital LLC, a privately-owned and vertically-integrated commercial real estate manager and developer. During his time at Fresh Capital, Nick co-developed over $150M of hospitality-based retail assets while simultaneously overseeing the management and operation of a portfolio of retail and office assets with a gross value of $400M+. In 2023, Nick stepped away from his role at Fresh Capital LLC to pursue his shared vision to create a forward-thinking, boutique CRE firm.

Nick holds a BS in Accounting and Business Law from Pennsylvania State University. He lives in Nashville’s Sylvan Park neighborhood with his wife, two daughters, and beloved Newfoundland dog, Clark Griswold. He is a lover of music and dedicated soccer fan.

Finance | Asset Management

Shaun David (“SD”) manages and oversees all financial and accounting aspects of the business. In addition to his supervision of all bookkeeping and financial activity, SD also works hand-in-hand with our property management team on all day-to-day operations. His other responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, client & tenant communications, loan & mortgage administration, and risk management oversight. SD began his career as an accountant and property manager with Fresh Capital LLC, where he spent eight years working directly alongside the principals focusing on the financial operation and management of its assets. Prior to launching New Paradigm with Nick and Matt, SD departed Fresh Capital LLC as the acting CFO and VP of Asset Management. A Middle Tennessee native, SD lives in Hendersonville with his wife, Laney, his son, Elliott, and their two dogs, Cooper and Bella. SD holds a BS in Accounting & Finance from the University of Tennessee, and is an avid golfer and family man.

Operations | Property Management

Matthew (“Matt’) is responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of all assets under management, as well as implementing and overseeing organizational strategy and best practices for our growing practice. Prior to the launch of New Paradigm, Matt served as the Director of Property Management at Fresh Capital LLC starting in 2019, where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of a $400M+ (gross value) portfolio of retail and office assets. Matt spent the earlier part of his career working in the property and asset management field at a number of high-profile CRE companies including Southeast Venture and Avison Young. A Memphis native and Nashville resident since 2006, Matt lives in the West Meade neighborhood with his wife, Catherine, and their two senior dogs, Beanie and Precious (long story). Matt is a dedicated lover of music, an avid traveler, and a champion of spending time in the great outdoors. And fun fact, Matt was the founding editor of Eater Nashville, a hospitality news site that he ran for five years.
